The Lady Panthers jumped out early and never looked back as they improved to 2-0 with a 50-26 victory over the visiting Jayhawks of Vandercook Lake. Stockbridge led 14-7 after the first quarter and 29-13 at the half. Stockbridges depth and ability to get to the free throw proved to much for Vandercook. After the intermission the Panthers picked right up where they left off, as they outscored the Jayhawks 11-6. “We did some things better tonight than we did at Bath on Tuesday, but we still are a long way from where I hope we can get. We have next week off and hopefully we will use the time to get better at defending without fouling, knowing the offense, and putting the ball in the basket,” added Coach Hejnal after the victory. “This has been a fun group to get to know and some of them are still learning their roles on the team.”

Jordan Myers led the offense with 16 while Kaylee Dalton chipped in with 9. Hailey Howard and Sylvia Whitt both had 6 while Hailee Fraser-Gutting, Peyton Killinger, Tyler Showerman, Madi Mazuca, Molly Nichols, and Paige Wooden each contributed points as well. The Lady Panthers will have a week off before they travel to Eaton Rapids for a tough non-conference match-up. Coach Hejnal commented, “This will be a good test for us to see where we stand. Our non-conference schedule is very tough, which will help us be ready for our conference games.”
