Stockbridge Panthers Varsity’s effort to come back from down seven runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 12-10 to Bath on Thursday. Stockbridge Panthers Varsity scored five runs in the failed comeback on a in the fifth, a single by Marissa Bellestri in the seventh, and a home run by Lena Jackson in the seventh. Both teams exchanged the lead back-and-forth in the game, but Bath eventually took the lead. Stockbridge Panthers Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. Paige Wooden grounded out, scoring one run. Stockbridge Panthers Varsity scored when Hannah Smith doubled off of #2, driving in two runs and there was an error, scoring one run. Bath then answered when #12 homered off of Emily Breslin, driving in three runs. Bath took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #3 singled off of Breslin, driving in one run, #4 singled off of Breslin, driving in two runs, #10 singled off of Breslin, driving in one run, and there was an error, scoring two runs. Stockbridge Panthers Varsity scored four runs in the seventh inning. Stockbridge Panthers Varsity’s big inning was driven by a single by Marissa Bellestri and a home run by Lena Jackson. Breslin took the loss for Stockbridge Panthers Varsity. She went six innings, allowing 12 runs, 11 hits, striking out six, and walking one.

SPECIAL HIGHLIGHT- Sophomore Lena Jackson hit 3 over the fence home runs against Bath tonight in the double header.

Stockbridge Panthers Varsity had 13 hits in the game. Jackson, Wooden, Breslin, and Smith each collected multiple hits for Stockbridge Panthers Varsity. Jackson led Stockbridge Panthers Varsity with four runs batted in. She went 3-for-4 on the day.
