Game Recap

The JV Lady Panthers hosted the Jayhawks of Vandercook Lake on Tuesday evening and came away with a hard fought 39-29 victory. Both teams played hard and battled back and forth for four grueling quarters. Stockbridge was able to build a three point lead after the first quarter and extend it to nine by the half. The Jayhawks continued to battle and cut the lead to five on numerous occasions, but the Lady Panthers were able to hold on and come away with a victory. Taylor Carey led the offense with 11 points, Jordan Myers had 9, while Sylvia Whitt chipped in with 8 points. Paige Wooden played an all around good game and finished with six points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. After the game Coach Hejnal remarked how Vandercook’s defensive intensity gave them problems at times but was pleased with the way the girls responded and came away with the victory. The win brings their record to 2-1 on the young season. The ladies are back in action on Thursday night when they host the reigning conference champions from Perry. Tip off is scheduled for around 5:30 immediately after the freshman boys game against the Ramblers. We hope to see you there.
