Game Recap

The Stockbridge Women’s Soccer team traveled to Perry to take on the Ramblers in a league contest Thursday night. The team, coming off a tough loss the night before, struggled initially finding their rhythm. Once they began communicating their play was much improved and the best they have looked on the young season.

The team played well through the offensive zone on strong play from their midfielders. They were able to create a number of scoring chances for the forwards with solid passing. Faith Whitt netted goals in the 25th and 68th minutes to propel the team to the 2-0 victory. The Panthers recorded 11 shots on goal for the evening.

Defensively, led by Senior Captain Savannah Torrey, the lady took great strides in their communication and teamwork. They limited the Rambler opportunities with their tough play and Maria Hoard made 4 saves to secure the shutout. Paige Brown, Madi Howard, Baylee Heidrich, and Emma Langohr rounded out the defensive unit.

The teams record now stands at 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Panthers return to action Monday when they travel to Lainsgsburg for a 5:30 contest.
